Meet Our Team

Amanda B. Nichols, R.Ph.

Pharmacist, Compounding Specialist, BHRT Specialist

After attending Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1998. Then I headed west, spending 10 years in Colorado and Nevada working as a retail pharmacist and as the Pharmacy Director for St. Mary’s Health Plan. While in Lake Tahoe I had the honor of working for a world class pharmacist who inspired me to learn more about the Art of Compounding Medicine. This led me to specialize in Women’s Health, including Thyroid Issues, Cancer Prevention, and Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).

In 2008, I moved to lovely Black Mountain, NC and opened up a little Hometown Pharmacy. I love this town and enjoy following my parents’ example of serving my community every chance I get!

A Little More About Amanda:

What is your inspiration? "My family."
My pets: “I love my Golden Retriever, Willow.”
Favorite Quotes: “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” – Albert Einstein. “Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.” – James 1:19.
What would you do if you hadn't chosen pharmacy? “I’d be a photographer.”
Why did you choose pharmacy? “I wanted to work in the medical profession, and pharmacy is a field that offers so many interesting opportunities, including the ability to travel!”
What is unique about you? “I am the youngest of 8 children, seven being girls.”
What is your life motto? “Serve wherever you are, in whatever capacity you can.”
What is some advice that has helped you out? “My dad taught me to always leave something better off that it was before you found it.”
