Meet Our Team

Amanda B. Nichols, R.Ph.

Pharmacist, Compounding Specialist, Bio-Identical HRT Specialist.

After attending Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Amanda went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (Eschelman School of Pharmacy) in 1998. Amanda promptly headed out West spending 10 years traveling, snow skiing, biking, and working as a retail pharmacist in Colorado, Nevada, and California. For a brief time she claimed the position as the pharmacy Director for St. Mary’s health plan. Working for a health plan was not exactly her style, so she moved to Independent Pharmacy.

While in Lake Tahoe, Amanda had the honor of working for a world class Pharmacist who inspired her to learn more about the art of compounding medication. This lead to specializing in women’s health, cancer prevention, and Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy. Amanda loves people, science, problem-solving, and the fast pace environment of retail pharmacy.

In 2007 Amanda moved to the beautiful and gentle mountains of Western North Carolina and opened a little hometown pharmacy called Sunshine Pharmacy And Health in 2008.

"I love this small town, and I enjoy honoring my parent’s example of serving my community every chance I get. That’s why I opened Sunshine Pharmacy and Health."
